District 4 Director
Stephen Swanson
Yo ho ho and a bottle of Rum; the Captain’s Rum, if ye know what I means.

My name is Dirty John Rackham, but most of you know me better as Stephen Swanson. I am the Region 5 District 4 Director, with my home chapter being Mission Inn, which is in South St. Louis City.

I have held several positions in my home chapter, with the most recent one being President last year. I had a really great and fun year last year, and am looking forward to creating that fun atmosphere in District 4. I have a great set of leaders and really enjoy going to all of my chapters’ events. I’m originally from Montana, which is where I first became a Jaycee, and my wife, Keri, and myself moved out to St. Louis not knowing anyone. So, we are very grateful for the Jaycees and never could have imagined all of the great times that we have had and all of the fun that is still to come. I am very excited to be a part of the Region 5 team this year, and plan on being all over the region, and maybe even outside of the region, so be on the lookout for my wife and me.

If anybody needs any extra help throughout the year, please feel free to contact me, and I will bring my wife, even if it’s kicking and scream. Just kidding! I’m sure she won’t need me to tie her up and put her in the trunk.

    Bulletins:

From Keri Jupka, Mission Inn Jaycees:
"Mission Inn will be going to two Muny shows this year. We will be attending the June 19th show of the Producers and the July 10th show of My Fair Lady. We will be buying group tickets for $13.60 (the normal price is $17.00).   Anyone is welcome to join us at the Muny.   Please let me know ASAP if you would like to join us."

From Brian Boeckman, Vice President, West St. Louis County Jaycees:
"Come out and be part of our community celebration, Ballwin Days, Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29 at Vlasis Park in Ballwin. We are a big part of this festivity. You are invited to come on out, enjoy the festivities, and pitch in unhooking a fish, pouring a beer or handing out glow-necklaces during the music concerts and fireworks."

From Tonya Benton, President, Missouri Jaycees:
"Donations for Access Day are down. We need to raise $8,000 to $12,000 for this event to happen." Please help to make this project happen with your chapter's contribution to Access Day at the Fair, August 15, 2008.
