Region 5 District 4 Director
Nathan Barger
My name is Nathan Barger, and I am the Region 5 District 4 Director for 2011. This is my 7th term in a leadership role as a Jaycee, but it is the first beyond the local level. I am an active member of the Mid County Jaycees with a dual membership with the O'Fallon Jaycees. I first became a Jaycee in 2003 with the O'Fallon Jaycees.I joined Mid County in its charter year of 2004, taking my first board position as Treasurer in 2005. In 2006, I added Individual Development Vice President to my responsibilities. In 2007, I changed roles and became Management Vice President. In 2008 and 2009, I was the president of the organization helping to grow the chapter and move past tough times. In 2010 I passed the presidential torch and became the chairman of the board of our chapter.
Along the journey as a board member, I helped pull Mid County out of Red Chip (less than 20 members), and helped start a few successful projects in our chapter including our annual Trivia Madness and selling Ted Drewes at various local festivals and concerts.
During the day I work as a structural engineer for CDG Engineers in the City of St. Louis, providing structural calculations and design drawings for various types of structures such as power plants, coal handling structures, bridges, and others as needed. I currently reside in Maplewood, a rocks throw from our communities in Mid County. I look forward to a successful year helping the Region 5 team, and I look forward to helping the region grow its membership.
