Access Day at the Fair
HELP!!!
Missouri Jaycees:
Access Day at the State Fair is one of our state programs. The last Friday of the
State Fair in Sedalia (this year it is August 15th) we bus in people from group
homes around the state. We provide them a sack lunch in the air-conditioned
armory, along with a dj and clowns. We pay for their admission into the fair,
so that they can enjoy the day. At the end of the afternoon, we load them back
on their busses and send them home. For some of these people, it is their only
chance during the year to leave their group home. It's something they look
forward to all year long.
Donations for Access Day are down. We need to raise $8,000 to $12,000 for this
event to happen. As a way to promote the program and raise funds, the Missouri
Jaycees State Team will be auctioning themselves off this Sunday, May 18th at
the General Membership Meeting at the State Spring Meeting in Macon. Make sure
to bring your $$$ and buy one or more of the State Team members to work a
chapter event of your choice!!!!
If you can't make it to Macon this weekend, please mail your donations to the
Missouri Jaycees State Service Center, 222 E. Dunklin St., Suite 100, Jefferson
City, MO, 65101. Make checks payable to Missouri Jaycees with Access Day
written in the memo line.
